Background Basics

In our comprehensive lesson on furnishing your home office studio background, we discuss everything from wall paint colors and how the right shade can set the tone for your videos to elements like plants and artwork. Teaching you how to strategically place these items to add depth, texture, and personality to your space. In our detailed lesson on setting up an HD camera for your home office studio, we guide you through each step of the process. This lesson is one of the most critical in the entire process. This also allows you to read scripts or notes without breaking eye contact with your audience or interviewee. If you look great but sound like you're in a tin can, that's no good. In this lesson I'm going to show you how to break away from the subpar audio of AirPods or your laptop mic. The importance of good audio quality can't be understated on how it can significantly impact your audience's perception and engagement. By the end of this lesson, you'll have the knowledge and skills to set up a professional-grade microphone, ensuring your audio quality matches the professionalism of your video content.

Pro-Grade Lighting

A great camera with bad lighting will have bad quality. (see image to the left) In this lesson, I take you through the entire process, from choosing the right lights to positioning them for a cinematic look. By the end of this lesson, you'll have a thorough understanding of how to use a simple lighting setup to enhance your on-camera presence and create a visually compelling video setup. And we'll do it without taking any floor space at all. This is great if you're like me and hate clutter.

Push Button Automation

I'm a sucker for keeping things simple and low friction. One of the reasons most people never create their own home office studio is because they think it'll be a hassle every time they need to use it. In this lesson, I'm going to show you how to use your voice, watch, or phone to cut everything on/off with the press of a button. Simply sit down, press a button, and within 5-seconds, you're ready to record top-quality content or look professional on your meeting.
